Layout (this page and the layout are still under construction)

Here’s a couple of early pix (sorry for the quality) of layout construction.  First is from the center of the room looking towards Chama Yard, next is from the Antonito Helix end looking back towards Chama Yard, next is looking towards Lobato and shows the MicroMark step ladder, and the last is from the stair well looking back towards Chama.

First test train running on the staging level under the roundhouse / turntable island, next up is the start of the helix coming up from the staging level to the main level, then a different view of the same helix, and lastly a high level shot showing what will become Antonito with the helix visible below.

The first bits of cork being laid in the Chama Yard area, next will come the Micro Engineering code 83 ON30 flex track with ME #5 switches.  Turnouts will be thrown with Tortoise switch machines via DCC controls.  Hidden switches on the staging level will be twin coil snap machines.

The layout is being built during lulls in our busy schedules.  We are both live steamers and are very active at the two local live steam parks.  Also BB is still getting his new house and shop up to his liking.  We will continue to work on the layout as time permits and post here, so please come back often and enjoy.
