The projects listed here are not in any particular order or priority, but are presented here to generate interest and possible funding to allow their completion.

  1. Install 2 switches to make a wye at the south end of the yard area.  This will allow the turning of trains for 2008.  Some minor dirt work will be required.  Wood tied switches will be OK for this project.
  2. MTC G12 Streamliner:  A 1950's era amusement park train set that needs to be converted to battery operation.  Cars are in good shape but need some restoration work.  Cars need upholstery.  Portable track system needs to built.  Club needs a  trailer to haul train set and trackage.  Approximate costs $25,000
  3. Four additional passing sidings.  This would allow bi-directional running of trains on the Klamath and Western.  Need 8 switches and 600 feet of track.  Dirt work with additional drainage and infrastructure work is also required.  Approximate costs $8,000
  4. Signaling system for the Klamath and Western.  John Cooper has developed a signal system for use on Train Mountain that would also work for the Klamath and Western.  Approximate costs $10,000
  5. Redesign of Klamath and Western main yards and passenger terminal.  The current layout of the yard does not match the current uses of the Klamath and Western railroad.  The new design would allow longer trains to use the facility and help handle more train traffic during Train Mountain meets.  This project requires approval of Train Mountain.  Approximate costs $10,000.  A portion of these funds may be available from Train Mountain as they will benefit from the redesign as well.
  6. Two new tunnels on the Klamath and Western railroad.  These new tunnels will allow the passage of Train Mountain gators through the area without causing track damage during the running season.  Al Jones has the materials.  A lot of dirt work needs to be done so use of Train Mountain heavy equipment would be necessary.  Approximate costs $3,000
  7. The passenger walkway from the parking area to the riding area needs to be redone.  The heavy rock walkway is very difficult to navigate on foot and even worse with a wheeled cart or wheel chair. Approximate costs $5,000
  8. Extension of the Robbnet tail track to connect into the passenger yard.  Requires some dirt work.  Requires a retaining wall of approximately 3 feet by 50 feet. Approximate costs $5,000
